Re: António's something different, two from Jeroen

It is an interesting concept, António. I like the slight distortion on the lower right of the house, but I think maybe it's a little too much on the upper left. Is the trick getting just enough off-line to make it something interesting, but not so far that your eye loses it? There's a concept in music that people will be comfortable following a new piece of music if the next phrase or section surprises them about half the time. It would be hard to quantify how much surprise there is in each section, but I think maybe there's a similar concept here, where your eye should find what it's looking for half the time.

The bridge section is a nice geometry, nice vanishing point, Jeroen. Could you bring out the lines between the stones any more? That would add to it, I think. I love the bicycle shot, the clouds and the backlight.

    Cheers,
    Rick

Re: Storm, In my web, My Inspiration

Brilliant shot of the opening in the clouds, Pops. The weeds (?) in the foreground add a lot, looking like they're reaching up, while the light reaches down.

Wonderful shots of the spider, Dave. The colors on the first one are fantastic, and it's nice to get the view from the other side.

Lovely portrait, Chriss. The pensive look on your baby, with the happy look on her mother, is a great composition. My only comment might be that the flower headband kind of separates their faces, dividing the focal points of the portrait.

    Cheers,
    Rick

They are both the same cat and I also prefer the second one. A little more enigmatic, like the creature himself.
As for the eyes, These were shot indoors in very low light and the ISO was probably too high. The eyes looked very flat, and kind of weird, so I did some saturation on them. Not the best cat photo in the world.

They're images with an attitude, and the eyes are cool - I thought it might be reflection of something: it's amazing how something can show in eyes. I've had to seriously touch up eyes sometimes to get rid of a crystal clear tiny image of my bounce umbrella.

    Cheers,
