    Southern foliage

This red leafy plant had intense color that required no extra saturation in PP. Perhaps even toning down the red would have been in order?
I have read that the D7200 may over saturate reds on occasion.

I love saturated colours Dave so the reddy/pink in picture 1 is very much to my taste. It may work better with a black background - you could do this in photoshop with a layer mask and have a look. Just be aware that you have a large specular highlight on the right side of the leaf that has reduced the contrast in this area - if you could have gently moved the leaf away from the light source you may get a more even colour profile.

I like image 2, it works for me as an abstract piece. On the right side of the frame there is a small orange cast, it must be an out of focus element in the background - id consider cloning this out.

I prefer #2 here between the two. I can almost feel the thorns scraping my skin as I passed by.
