    Tay Bridge lll

For those unsatiated by the bridge and the view...

These shots were taken on ma old Lubitel 2 (6x6). Ah used two old ORWO 120 films from the 1970s (which ah discovered in a box in a cupboard), one B+W, the other colour . Ah wanted tae get the "painterly" look tae make the shots look vintage late 19th./early 20th. C, as suited the subject. Not difficult given the media used.

Used a skylight 1b on 1,2 and 4. Held an orange filter over the lens on 3...

PS shouldha said that #1 is the road bridge...oops

Boab, Never mind anything else, the story behind these makes them a treat to view. Having said that, I have come across some folks who mess around for days on end trying to replicate these effects in Photoshop ... Thanks for posting them and the background.

Nice series, I really like the treatment done on the second and third image.

I prefer #2 and the grain made this shot so beautiful. I have never imagine for a second that an addition of grain could be so beautiful, but this one suits it very well.

    Hi Izzie,

Yes, ah did add a small amount of grain tae the B+W #2, didn't think ah was gonna need tae considering the age and deterioration of the film. What amazed me was how well the old film had survived without even refrigeration though it was sealed in foil and boxed.

I really like the 3rd shot, Boab. The colours and the balance between the bridge on the left and the railing on the right. Well conceived.
