Hi everyone,
I am looking into birthphotography and I have 3 birth booked in to photograph! (very exciting)
I have seen may people using photo slide shows to present the images and I thought I should ask you guys if you have done this and if so what program do you use.
Here is an example of the final product.

I use ProShow Gold (about $70). Version 4 (latest) is pretty good, and has a wide variety of output formats, including a direct upload to your YouTube account. The software handles most transition effects etc, including Ken Burns animation. http://www.photodex.com/products/proshow/gold
Here is an example of one of mine of the Big Pit mining museum in South Wales. The resolution isn't great so don't try full-screen mode.

I have and use Flash Slideshow Maker and for Music, just google "Royalty free music" and you'll find a bunch of site with minimal or totally free music that you can download and use.

I can second the use of ProShow Gold. I now use ProShow Producer which has more features but for what you want to accomplish Gold should be good enough. There is also a great forum for ProShow users (www.proshowenthusiasts.com).
As far as using music, you need to carefully read the contract terms to see what you are and are not allowed to do. Rules may be different for commercial use than for private use.
