I will be moving to Cuba toward the end of the year, and I have a few projects going there and will also start a few new ones. They are not particularly related to photography, but I thought I could share my garlic image to show how tilt can be used to extend depth of field, rather than the common usage of minimizing it.
I called the image Triffids-p, as a couple of my garlic cloves seemed to make serious attempts to escape from their confinement. The one in the second cell from bottom to the right actually got up completely from the soil before any sprout was to be seen, so I replanted it. It was the roots that pushed it up, effectively unburying the clove entirely.
Then there was also a second one, which I haven't touched, but its roots (left fifth) are seeking the neighbour trough. It makes me wonder; how would it know that it can find water and nutrients there?
So their obvious attempts at moving around is what made me think of triffids. I thought of placing it in "general discussion", as the DoF issue is such, but put it here, as an example of "all other photography".
