    Misty vista

This is kind of an anti-Sam W scene - whereas his nature shots are wild and full of tonal range, this is inhabited and misty. However, like Sam, I've created a mono(ish) and colour scene for comparison.

    Nice one Simon.
I prefer the color version myself.
There are a lot of power lines in this image. Not saying that is bad, just that when you look closely at it you see just how many there are.

Simon if you are asking which one I prefer, I would say the mono...the colour version was begging for the conversion...and it shows.

    Re: Misty vista

Thanks for the comments. It's a picture I have used to practice some bits, as it's hardly the most scenic vista. But I'm happy with the composition with the trees in the foreground, and I have practiced various pp techniques. I'm quite happy with the results, although I'm not convinced about the mist around the edge of the trees. I think that can be lessened, or a cloudy texture added in Ps.

Both versions work well but I would go with the colours simply because there are a lot of similar tones in the branches which causes the B&W option to look a little less clear in those areas.
