    Winter breaking

Another image from the weekend along the waters edge at Whitefish Falls. In a few weeks the smelts will start running which will see people lining the bank dipping their nets and filling their buckets.

I have a pack of smelts in my freezer at the moment. I don't know what to do with them -- yet.

Nice crisp image Dave. I'd be inclined to crop out the big rock at the bottom to make it a square crop and give more emphasis to the other parts of the image. Just my opinion of course.

My feeling as well but a nice crisp image none the less. Excuse my ignorance but what is smelting (apart from I the local iron works )?

John Smelts are small fish that run up the rivers in the spring to spawn. Deep fried they are very tasty and popular here in northern Ontario.

Nice image; for me too smelting is a metallurgical process alone, so far....If the audience is Inter National there are many troubles involved in conversations
