Absract - Door Art - C&C are most welcome !!

This shot was taken almost an year back. This is an old door and I liked the carving on it and I took this shot. I am not sure, whether I have posted this before or not. If I have, kindly ignore.

Your valuable suggestions for my below shot will be highly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Tejal

Nicely done, nothing you can do about it now; unless you can get back to the location; however I would try to capture this scene on a sunny day. The combination of old rust, textures, and patterns would look good with more dynamic lighting; flash could work also.

I wouldn't call this image as an abstract Tejal. It is a very nice and real image

It's a nice image and I would not try to use anything other than diffuse natural light for this subject. Small flash will cause hot spots and uneven reflections and you would need to bring a studio light with a medium or large softbox to do this justice. Bright sunny conditions would cast harsh shadows and introduce other problems into the image.

Diffuse light is best for fine details like found in this door, and you've brought out the beautiful workmanship in it. The image rather reminds me of a door I shot at the Ranganatha temple, in Srirangapatna to where there is a small temple containing a statue of Lakshmi. Perhaps I should pull that out for comparison, even though it is not nearly as ornate as this door.

Be careful when using a flash, try to use it off camera to avoid the door looking flat and to provide better contrast of the textures.

I copied this image and added a small bit of contrast, some saturation and quite a bit of structure with this result...

I too was of the opinion to increase contrast, bright up a bit, as Richard has done.
