Calm indeed, I like it Kaye IMO the image needs straightening . Also some 'levels' adjustments might help to adjust the white point and the mid tones.I would also add a little structure or clarity to the rocks selectively.
There is a lot more contrast in this scene when viewed in the lightbox option; although I am then seeing some odd effects in the sky.
Going for a subdued approach with monochrome is tricky but this is looking quite good. Maybe some slight darkening of the shadows? More adjustments in the way of contrast would produce a 'stronger' scene but in this particular case that may lose more than is gained.
I feel the image need a boosted contrast and a bit of straightening; liked it
I like the image, Kaye but it is lacking an element -- animal, human?
Thanks all for input and encouragement. I will take another look at these, although sadly Izzie I don't think I can put a person in !!
Very nice and impressive. Perhaps you could put more drama with shades but with good photo you can do whatever
The tonal range is much better and the horizon appears level. A good improvement. It would still benefit by an additional point of interest.(bird, boat, dog, driftwood log, or human in the distance)
Thanks for the challenge, uhmm, not sure I yet have the skills. One day maybe.
You changed the gloom of the day to a pleasing brilliance; very well done
The edit looks better Kaye
