Couple of sunset images from Thursday & Friday

Both handheld spontaneous shots while out driving in the car....

#1 - The first one I took on Thursday while driving home from the day job, you can actually see the building I work in to the left of the sun.


#2 - This one was taken last night as I went for a scenic drive to kill some time

Nice shots, I like the second one best, not enough sunset and too much tree in the first.

Not being contrary but I prefer the first. The road in the second is worth remembering for the next time the sun is going down after a rain shower.

Definitely prefer the second.....the positioning of the road is spot on

The first one looks much better with the Lightbox viewing option; but even then I suspect there is a fraction too much dark area at the bottom.

Holding my piece of card against the screen appears to create more impact with the foreground below the tree base hidden. The fine detail and subtle light then become more obvious.

I like them both, though there is a pesky piece of grass or something in the first that i'd like to see removed. These are subtle, soft and that is a nice change from sunsets that often bludgeon you with color and contrast.
