    Ice walk

This fella was walking across the ice towards the cottage on the island. The mountains in the distance are the La Cloche Mountains which are actually the west tail end of the Niagara escapement. This is the north channel of Lake Huron.

The image looks a little on the blue side but this is pretty much how the scene looked. The sky was a dull blue with no clouds, a little haze, and the ice which is melting looks blue/grey as it melts under the bright spring sun.

That won't be happening much longer. It looks like there might be a few thin spots starting to appear on the ice.

I find that these scenes with the cloudless skies make it difficult to pull of a decent shot, as the negative space in the sky generally doesn't contribute a lot to the image. I wonder if an even more aggressive crop of the sky would improve this image some more?

It appears to me that this scene has three equal horizontal lines. Maybe reducing the sky a bit as Manfred suggested. That is only my opinion.

I like this shot the way it is...no crop, please. I love the composition.
