Nice composition, the textures need a bit of coaxing to bring out more detail; either by underexposing the reds or adding a bit of flash. I suggest the use of flash just to play with the shadows a bit and give the flower a bit more shape.

I like this image a lot. To me, the texture is just right and the simplicity of the composition and small range of colours is nice. I find that with flowers, if there is too much detail in the petals, they start to look tatty.

    I'm with Tony,

The only thing I'd do if mine, is tone down that lower left corner with a bit of burning.

    Cheers, Dave

I quite like that as well Brian. Agree with Dave over the bottom LH corner but the OOF green of the leaf in the BG makes a good back drop for the red of the flower. Nicely composed on the diagonal as well.

I did tone down the bottom left but apparently not quite enough.

I too like the diagonal, detail, and contrast of colors.

    Nicely done, Brian.

Yes, a shy flower; but wise enough to send project out the stamen and pollen

Brian, a nice simple photo, I like it a lot. Get rid of that green leaf in the bottom left corner as Dave suggested.
    Cheers Ole
