Spring is here, but still crouching

Yesterday we had snow, but the anemones dared challenge it. I took a picture today. The temperature is still at the verge of freezing and they are crouching, but spring is inevitably here.

Looks like you captured the lighting just right to me. Nice photo, I like the contrasts.

You captured this very well. I like the fine detail and water droplets. It has to be seen in lytebox to appreciate.

Quite a wicked start to spring, nice effort.

I really like the colour scheme - subdued colours and the more earthly colours works well.

Lovely colours, although I would have been tempted to 'garden' out the green ivy leaf. As an alternative presentation, you could crop this image so as to only have the rhs and bring out the hint of colour in those small buds.

The leaf is not ivy, it is anemone hepatica, so named for the shape of its leaves. I deliberately included the leaf as it is an essential part of the herb. The only thing that disturbs me a bit is the reflections from the two ridges of the stem of the leaf, which resembles "bad bokeh", but that is the way the plant looks. In fact, cautious 'gardening' was done, to reveal that the leaf emerges from the same rhizome.

Spring is here, no longer crouching

Now they are no longer crouching, but rising and greeting the sun.
