Ooops, nearly forgot - OK, here are the two I found most instructive:
Blake Rudis; f64 academy: Chromatic Aberration Reduction in Photoshop = 4:12
Klaus Herrmann; Farbspiel Photography How to Remove Chromatic Aberration in Adobe Camera Raw = 18:36
The second is very worthwhile for the use of the manual controls when the automatic doesn't fix it everywhere in a shot.
I believe LR will be similar.
There are a lot of other CA fixing videos out there, but many either use bad example photos (which won't help you recognise the typical signs easily) or are dealing with a different type of CA (axial), but I don't want to bring that in here (besides, I believe the same tool will fix both simultaneously anyway).
Once you know where in PS (ACR) or LR to look, just leave it permanently checked for automatic correction on all photos.
Ditto the lens profile corrections.

Re: 2016 Project 52, Second Quarter by Joe/ Joebranko
Found a new spot for landscapes. It is an inlet from Lake Ontario into the Jordan Valley. I knew of this location but have never visited with a camera. So ventured out on Sunday, wife and dog in tow. Having taken several shots of trees with bare branches, much like the one I took at the beach of Lake Erie which gave me challenges with CA I decided to practice the removal of same using the techniques recommended by Dave as per these You Tube videos_ Blake Rudis; f64 academy: Chromatic Aberration Reduction in Photoshop = 4:12
Klaus Herrmann; Farbspiel Photography How to Remove Chromatic Aberration in Adobe Camera Raw = 18:36.

All excellent shots, Joe. I like the first and last the best. I think I better watch the videos myself as I am testing a pair of new contacts, one of them for astigmatism.

I especially like the first and last images Joe. If it was mine I would bring some more details in the sky in the last image :)

Re: 2016 Project 52, Second Quarter by Joe/ Joebranko
When not showing the whole of a tree it is difficult to decide where to crop; but these examples seem to work well for me.

Thanks Izzie. Try the videos, I found them helpful!

Thanks Binnur. I agree. I had applied a graduated filter to the sky in the last shot. Perhaps I can tweak it a little and see what I get.

Hi Joe, Looks like you have sorted out the 'CA' fringing, good work. The shot of the paddlers I like because of the nice bright colours on them. I think you could crop the sky down to the third line and take a little off the left side, this would let us see the shoreline and buildings a lot better and also bring the paddlers in closer....Lindsay

Re: 2016 Project 52, Second Quarter by Joe/ Joebranko
Hi Joe,
The lack of CA looks good to me too.
These are tricky subjects to shoot (without waders, which I don't own) as the best angles always seem to require shooting from a place several feet just off shore!
Compositionally, I prefer #1, although the 'extra' branches top of frame don't help.
#3 probably works least well for me.
#4 I agree with suggestions to slightly dramatise the sky, along with a minor crop.
A step forward, definitely - well done, Dave

I have acquired a copy of On1 which has a 'layers' function. I will try to remove the branches in #1 using this software

Sunrise over Lake Ontario.
This is a merge of 2 exposures, the fist at 1/320 " the second at 1/60", using Lightroom's HDR merge function. The camera was hand held. I was trying to get some detail of the sandy beach and the rocks using this approach. This might have been an opportunity to have tried a graduated filter on the sky and a longer exposure to get the same result. Unfortunately I still don't have a graduated filter!

Joe...this is an excellent shot even without the CPL. I like water naturally treated...

Looks good to me, Joe.
A graduated filter may have worked but there is a risk that any darkening of the sky would make the scene appear 'top heavy'.

Re: 2016 Project 52, Second Quarter by Joe/ Joebranko
It is great to see you continuing your quest for improvement. I love this shot. The thing I would suggest you consider is the center placement of the rocks. You have said before, if I remember, that you tend to lean to symmetrical images. I tend to lean to asymmetry in composition so that the viewer's eye is drawn around the image. Both are useful approaches. In this shot it doesn't seem possible to crop it to an asymmetric composition without either changing it to an almost square format--which I don't think is right for this subject matter, or loosing some of the wonderful clouds. But at the time the photo was taken such a choice might have been possible.--Just a challenge for future shots--try it both ways!

Re: 2016 Project 52, Second Quarter by Joe/ Joebranko
Hi Joe, my only thought is that you could lose that bit of beach and crop the RHS to centre what's left. Having said that, it's a very nice shot as it stands.

Thanks Geoff. I'll have to watch for that if/when I get a graduated filter. Thanks for mentioning that.

Re: 2016 Project 52, Second Quarter by Joe/ Joebranko
Thanks Judith. I must admit that when I was taking the shot j did not think ofthat . I was just too excited by the beautiful colours and the sun path leading to the rocks, which was a deliberate decision, that I did not think if symmetry! Thanks for pointing that out.
