I did wonder about the main subject being too central, Joe, but for me the shape of that bit of beach sufficiently throws everything off center. If you removed the beach area, then I think you would need to think about the symmetry being too strong.

Beautiful sky and interesting rocks with the bird adding that little extra. The composition might be stronger if you got rid of the rock on the farthest right edge in post processing. Not everyone is willing to make such a change. But try it and see how it changes the feel of the image. Also suggest pulling down the sky a smidge to eliminate the open expanse of sky above the clouds. (Since you stated composition was you focus for the year I am commenting on only that aspect. ) The diagonal line formed by the rocks (minus the far right, makes an interesting juxtaposition with the diagonal of the clouds.
Probably roughly equal arguments for and against the right side rock. I agree about a little crop from the top and, I suppose, a balancing amount from the left side. That would have the effect of moving the horizon a little further upwards from centre which I think will make a better composition.
The edit looks good to me, Joe.
Great sunset Joe, I like the edit
Beautiful,really.......
What a pleasant scene. I love it...
Looks fine, Joe. Worth viewing with the lightbox option where the fine detail becomes more obvious.
Nice job! Great eye and good composition! Thanks for sharing!
