    Yes, nice moody scene.

I wonder about showing the top of the tree, and more sky, but that might go too far and lose as much as would be gained.

It is a moody, particularly to me knowing a local history...As for composition...good point, that was also my first impulse but decided to lead your eye up the first stairs than you notice also stair up which are quite intriguing...at the same time you also follow lighter part of boulder just in front of the door where you end at white part of door stones at right.
Than you go up across door to the tree, little bit of clouds ending at two large stones in front of the lens.
These stones were another reason not to go for more sky but to have them in front so they give a kind of 3D impression.
The idea was that your eye is basically spiraling back to the first stairs.

This was long but you had a good point and had to tell you my thoughts at the time. Also, spiraling is something which is crossing my mind recently so this is a test

Hi Robert I really like this image .IMO the tree looks a bit too dark and making the top left corner a bit distracting. But I don't know if you can fix it with PP as the tree has so many thin branches and it is difficult to deal with . I like the tones , texture and the composition very much.

Absolutely wright Bunnur, the same error is at upper right corner. I was a bit lazy apparently. Can fix easily. Thanks
