A Lucky Find
I was at a friend's farm the other day doing some macro shots.I came across a small patch of milkweed in one of the fields.
There were several bumble bees feeding on the flowers so I started taking some shots and this caught my attention.
Newly hatched Monarch caterpiller going to town on a milkweed flower. It's probably about 2mm long.
I'm hoping to document it's growth to an adult butterfly over the next 6 weeks.

To my mind, that, from the technical as well as aesthetic perspective, is truly remarkable. You really are introducing us to a world that very few of us, I suspect, have ever seen before.

Gorgeous shot, Jim. The colors are out of this world, and the details of the speckles on the face are just unbelievable. Luck to notice it, maybe; ability to capture it like this.
Cheers,
Rick

Re: A Lucky Find
One of the better macros I have recently seen. Very well done, indeed.
