hi guys
a quick intro and too say hello too you all, I live in Fife Scotland and have done so for the last 28yrs, although I am originally from Plymouth a city in England. I wouldn't say I was new too photography but everything I have ever done is with the button set too "auto". I decided about a month ago too do something about that and signed up for a course with the Photography Institute. finding it tough going but am determined. was pointed too this sight when I was stuck on a certain aspect and it was a big help and this site is amazing, with some great photos too view and lots of info. I am very much interested in street, portrait and wildlife photography with some landscape at times. I have upgraded my camera (canon eos 500d too a canon eos 5ds with a 50mm and 135mm lenses. I am hoping at the end of my course too do photography on a semi professional level, but wont be giving up my day job
anyway I will leave it there.

A pleasure to welcome you, Paul. You'll see from my location noted alongside this message, that I'm next door to you. And you'll also see if you look at my images, that an lot are taken in Fife, particularly in the East Neuk. So, it's great top have you here. I hope you enjoy being part of the forum and that it does indeed help your photography.

So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

thanks for your warm welcome and for the info have now updated my profile. had a look around your site and some amazing photos, particularly the ploughing championship. I see you prefer monochrome, I think when photographing people it works so much better. on your new stuff really liked the photo of the steps down too the beach
