I just tried that on the camera. The green dot is the only thing that seems to be helping with the focus. I will soon get a hang of it, hopefully.

Sorry not been on the site for some days.
It's my real name - Birger Hansen -and I'm not sure I will share any shots until I'm a lot better - saw some of yuor exellent first shots - amazing.
So why bother about the "rangefinder" - but it is there.
You have to go to the menu and in the Setup Menu (the one with the tool-ikon) select CSM/Setup menu. Then select "Full".
It gives you full Custom menu settings - go to the Custom setting menu (the one with the pencll-ikon) select Rangfinder in the Viewfinder option and select "On".
