    A Fading Tulip

We had a pot of tulips that was well past it's prime. We often put other plants out in the garden but Tulips don't do well here so they were to be consigned to composte. When I got them out in the sun I found the texture interesting so stopped for a couple of shots.

I tried the second as a monochrome too.

All taken in direct sunlight with a Nikon D750 and the 70-300mm VR telezoom.

Brian..."past their prime" tulips can make some stellar images...well done.

Brian - I really like the first image, The tight crop results in more of abstract view of the dying tulip. I can't say I love the crop on the second shot. If you remove some of the negative space on the left, I suspect the image would be stronger.

As for the B&W, there I think you have lost too much information and the shot is the least effective of the three.

Thanks for the comments. I cropped it tight and square. Now I don't like the blurry little bit left on the right side.

Then I found another from the series that looked like it had some potential.

I prefer the last shot better, Brian...the colour are more pronounced.
