    Car Park Charge

Bit of fun playing around with another composite, the car park is the multi-story where I work and the rhino is from a stock image website.

    C&C welcome.

EDIT: Found the original in my cache:

Nice effort, just needs a bit of shadow underneath.

Thanks both, I have added a slight shadow underneath but maybe it needs to be a bit more prominent.

    Matt,

You should analyze the shadow patterns of nearby objects and also the direction of light in the scene, plus the rhino's hooves appear to be caught in motion above the garage floor. Although the distance between the floor and the rhino is very close; perhaps a slightly disconnected shadow might work.

John is on to it. I have has a quick play and I think it pushes it in the right direction (rhino's are very hard to push..) but it really needs to be done when you still have the separate layers and a larger image.

That looks good to me Paul, I'll give that a go later... I agree with your comment on the colour balance to, how would you go about correcting that?

Matt- it's nice to see you playing in another genre.

+1 to John's comment about the shadows. That is definitely something you need to think about when doing photocomposites. If you don't the piece you pasted in looks like it is floating on air and people will really notice that something looks wrong with the image.

The other issue I see with this image is that the rhino does not match with the DoF of the garage. Have a look at he focus of the areas around the rhino; it should be just as focused as anything else the same distance from the camera. The rhino looks sharper than the parking garage floor an pillars suggest that something is not quite right here.

I reckon Claudio is right there somewhere...When I saw the second shot, I thought the rhino was a bit too close to the photographer (you) so if you move it back a little bit, plus the shadow, it will have more meaning...Here it looks like the closeness is enough to impale you in just a few millisecond.
