    Rain Birds

We were on the walking track alongside the river when we saw this Yellow Eyed Currajong, aka a rain bird or a chough ( Pronounced Chuff). They are called rain birds as when you see or hear them out in the bush it means rain is not far away. And at the end of a long hot dry summer the sight or sound of a chough is much welcomed. Anyway Mrs Ucci just happened to have her camera on her and here are her captures.

They are good. In both cases the eye is perfectly in focus and that's what counts in images like this.

You have done well with such difficult shooting conditions.

My only slight negative thoughts are; in the first scene, it is a pity about that out of focus twig coming in from the left side about two thirds of the way up. Would it clone away? But not really that serious an issue. And a couple of little over bright areas in the second image. Mostly towards the top left corner.

Nice capture. They look like Pied Currawongs to me. Currajong is a suburb of Townsville.

Two nice shots, Glen -- I have seen some of them at the Melbourne Zoo's bird sanctuary recently but I did not identify them...thanks for the ID. Ken...naughty..naughty for not bringing your own camera...
