    10 Stops between Downpours

Its been one of those days where every time I have so much as looked at the dogs lead the heavens have opened and I ended up putting another pot of coffee on while he lay there giving me the evils. We did manage half an hour on the local beach but it hail stoned so much I had to make a run for the car - however - at teatime the rain did stop (sort of) so we made it up to the top of the local hills for a nice walk and a few photographs.

Lovely composition! That tree on the right side looks like a very worthwhile subject on its own for future photos.

    Yes, that is good Robin,

Just the right amount of smudge in those clouds and just the right amount of clouds for the foreground.

Do you know what that structure was? (out of interest)

    Cheers, Dave

It sounds like the type of weather that I would decide to put the camera away and grab a hot drink, a good book and find a comfortable chair to avoid getting cold and wet.

Great image - the fresh, green spring grass and the old ruins work quite nicely with the angry sky. Well spotted and well taken!

That tree is the bane of my life as it should form the basis of a good shot but doesn't, or at least I can't get one...

I could think of nothing better than sticking the heater on in our conservatory, making some fresh coffee and settling down in my favourite chair with a good book but the dog would also be in the room with me making me feel guilty - no mean feat I will tell you

Ditto from me Robin, very nice shot. IMO the composition is spot on with the structure dead centre.

Sounds like your weather is worse than ours over here on the West coast. Nice shot. I like the composition in particular with the path and fence leading in and the tree acting as a stop on the RHS.(+ The UW Samyang lenses have got to be the best bargain in town.)

Lovely composition. The colors fits the mood on the picture perfectly. The only thing I have to point out, is to the right of the tower where the weather seems too clear. Because it's a bit brighter it draws my attention. But what to do, you can't change the weather Overall a very nice scene!

I can empathize with you, Robin. We've been having some unsettled spring weather that has imposed on the dog's exercise. She is so rigid in her routine that when it is broken she nags us relentlessly. She is much more forceful than the silent stink eye.

The processing in this shot definitely captures the mood of foul weather.

That article is devoid of many photos for the items mentioned Robin, perhaps you should contribute?

    Thanks for the link, Dave

One of those shots that seems to not mind the subject being at the center of attention. Nice find, Robin...
P.S. Dogs have a way of making one feels guilty for not being take out no matter what the weather is outside. Ours here are no different.
