Female Ruby-Throat
Not at the level of Steve S's outstanding hummer shots, but I'm happy with it.
5DII 400mm f/5.6 ISO 200 1/640" natural light.

Re: Female Ruby-Throat
Great capture, Jim. I like the pose, kind of a Greek statue kind of thing. Her feathers appear wet: was she in a puddle or birdbath?
Cheers,
Rick

Re: Female Ruby-Throat
Very nice little series, Jim. Seeing the second, and being less focused on the bird, I also noticed that the branch (twig!) is so delicate, in keeping with the tiny bird. I imagine they choose that kind of branch because their feet are small: it makes a nice image.
Cheers,
Rick
