Kind of a strange angle but I liked this one

Surprised that there have been no responses to this one Monte. Classically, some would say that this viewpoint (rear quarter) isn't the best but in this case the fact that it demonstrated the sheer exertion involved in the bird in flight. makes it for me. Nice shot.

The light and colour on this are fantastic, nice capture.

I get most of my captures from this angle, I usually start from a straight on position and finally get the autofocusing right when the bird is passing.

    Nice capture.

It may be a bit of an unconventional angle but you have its head and in particular the eye well focused so that is the main requirement. Good exposure as well.

As I still struggle to get any focus at all with birds in flight I am very envious of this beautiful shot of a fantastic bird. Nice job.

I have not done any flying birdies lately and this is one I like more than the ones at the Bird Sanctuary in Melbourne...You got the head of this very clearly. I am sorry I saw this yesterday but I was too tired to comment hence just now since I save the link then. That extra drip of water completes this shot. WEll done.
