Agreed Brian - downsizing (or at least not upsizing) hides a lot of sins, like a missed focus.
This is the main reason for shooting tethered. We can't see that we have not got a sharp image in the tiny screens on the back of the camera, but put it on a large screen and all of our mistakes suddenly become quite visible. This lets the photographer correct his / her shooting before they come back with a lot of images they thought were good, but in fact were not.
