    Puppy Love

These three darling little girls are the daughters of a volunteer at a Petsmart (pet supply company) rescue event this weekend.

They wanted to play with our Chihuahua puppies and we asked them to sit down while doing that so they would not drop a puppy. The interface between the girls and the pups was great and furthered the socialization of the puppies...

    Puppy Love

It was difficult to get a lower view (which would show the girls faces) without the mesh of the pen interfering. I asked the girls to look up for one shot but, that took away the bonding dynamic between the girls and the puppies.

I did this in monochrome since the color of the rescue t-shirts clashed terribly with the color of the mat with which we covered the parking lot cement.

    Richard,

I don't know if this has been asked before, do you do any follow up portraits with families who your organization placed pets with?

    John,

Actually, except for the adoption photo, we don't usually do any follow up photos; unless we want to do a Facebook entry.

The follow-up photos are a great idea but, we really don't have the time to do them. However, we do ask the adopters to send us photos and videos of their newly adopted dogs. Sometimes we get them like this shot of Cola and her mom

    Puppy Love

    and sometimes we don't.

What we do is follow-up phone calls to ascertain how the adoption is proceeding...

That's cool that some owners provide updates, sort of marketing feedback on the program.

That is a good idea for you, Richard...anything for a good advert. Maybe you can do a follow-up on little Tucker too whom your daughter adopted. Will be nice to see him again ...
