I like how well the lighting revealed the texture of the feathers. Down side it the shadow over the eye. Eagles are showing back up here now. Can't wait to get on the water...

    Very nice Monte,

One minor niggle; If mine, I would have used a narrower Radius in output sharpening.

S/he looks to be at the limit of what that old branch will stand for weight-wise.

Although the eye is in shadow, that's why they 'evoluted' to have the bushy eyebrows - to remove flare under these conditions, by chance or good dodging on your part, I think there is enough detail and lightness there. I was more concerned at the very dark areas (between the odd feathers) under the wings, but that really is asking a lot to recover detail there, almost certainly it went beyond the sensor's DR.

    Cheers, Dave

Superb Shot Monte. I also had a look at your WEB site. Excellent photography there as well particularly the birds. Good work.

A very nice image indeed Monte Great details . I like the posture and the expression a lot. I would brighten the dark part on the top left corner a bit as it draws my attention from the eagle.

Nice shot. we have a nesting pair of Bald Eagles near our house. I'd like to get some shots of them but I can't justify a new lens just for them.
