Some examples, and nary a barn or old building in the lot, of some things I have done recently. Seemed I had to find some use for the monochrome nature of the late winter /early spring, so why not go monochrome?

Trevor, excellent shots all! My only comment is on #2, I would love to see more of the trees (aspen?) in the image.
B&W was a perfect choice, great conversion. And that last shot...yup way better in color. And makes a lot of sense for anyone that's ever driven up hill, in the snow. You coulda done it in B&W but I really think your choice of color for this shot was spot on.

So ultimately, the last two shots are my favorite but any of them would look awesome framed and hung. While I envy your geographic location for shots like these (and your barn shots) I'm way too spoiled to have only three seasons (right? winter, mud, 3 weeks of summer, repeat?

Trevor - wonderful name that... I really like your landscapes and think you have chosen a great theme for them. I particularly like the third one - I suspect the straightness of the lines appeals to my concrete-sequential character.

At the risk of seeming anal retentive, (which I probably am...) a small point ('cos my partner, who is a linguist, will haunt me if I don't). "Et al." actually refers to people as a group, whereas "etc." refers to a group of things, which I think is correct in this case.

We have four seasons as well: Winter, Is it still Winter?, Mosquito and Is that Snow?

As for the aspens, I decided to cut them off because while cleaning my sensor I left a huge nasty streak and no amount of processing would correct it.

Now gone, now it is mud and dust until the grass grows. This particular road is impassable as it is bottomless muck about half way along until the melt water stops pooling. If you get stuck you better hope the landowner is not the one to find you as he is royally peeved at having to repair the road to get his equipment in and out due to idiots ripping up the road.

I stand corrected. Anyone with the name Trevor must be listened to as they are invariably correct in all things. Except when they are married, in which case the Presumptive Female Correctness clause kicks in.

Nice set, Trevor. And an interesting change in subject matter. I agree with a prior comment regarding the trees in no.2. Either include more or eliminate them completely. As is they are an odd border and a bit distracting. The last one is really nice. And though we always consider clouds to make the sky interesting, in the case of no.5 the nearly pure blue works well IMO. Nicely done.

#1 -- I see some letters in the clouds. Now that is interesting...unfortunately they are not numbers you can put in your Powerball ticket. I like the whole theme you have here in this series...I was expecting a barn in any of them, but sans it, I am not disappointed either. I can just imagine the mud after the snow has melted.

#3 I like very much this version. Without those tracks, it would be hard to find the road...

#4 is my favourite. The colour version here helps a lot. A bit of crooked driver done that perhaps but the composition is really great. Excellent work as usual coming from you...
