Hi Tejal,

As John says, great angle on the 'chick' (whatever it is).

The only observation I can make is that it looks like your shutter speed wasn't quite fast enough to freeze the blink of the eye, which is somewhat softer than most of the rest of the image. However, I am pixel peeping (hard) to see this, it is only noticeable when the 2,048px × 1,536px image is viewed at 100%. If you had down sized to say; 1266 x 950px and output sharpened, I wouldn't have noticed this.

Subjects such as this tend to be constantly in motion, I know the problems they present, and hence where to look for them - and besides, if I hadn't seen it, we wouldn't be having this discussion and you, I and others would not be learning that shooting this at 1/160s (on a Canon 1100D using the kit lens at 55mm, iso 100 and f/5.6) might result in subject movement blur.


In terms of composition; personally, I'd shave a little off the right hand side; less than 10% image width.

Given you don't normally show us such subjects and this may well be uncropped, this is very good - you got down to a great angle, secured a nice plain background which is also out of focus due to the distance and aperture involved. The light angle and exposure is good too.

Thanks Dave for the detailed feedback. This one is an old pic. Had taken during my initial days of photography. But about shutter speed, yes it's very important to keep on higher side to freeze the moment and sometimes I don't realise about i when my whole attention is in capturing moment. .
