New lens tests!
I have had flu all week and have been in bed with no opportunities to play with my new gear, but it has finally started to clear. Here are a couple of test shots with the Olympus 45mm f1.8. The out of focus elements are handled really well for a £150 lens, and it's sharp all the way. C&C welcomed; these aren't my best but I'm getting to grips with the new set-up.
1. This shot of my cat used the in-built flash, but it can be pointed up which is amazing for an integrated unit and really useful.
2. My little one with some pleasant bokeh; it was even smoother before I had a play with clarity.

Cheers Matt. I'm doing a family and newborn shoot tomorrow and will go back to the dslr for the flash commander functions and increased resolution but I'm hoping to get the gx7 out for some informal candids as well, as it's so unthreatening. It's early days for me with this unit but the size to versatility ratio is just awesome.

Re: New lens tests!
Very interesting. I agree the IQ looks good. And it finally occurred to someone to allow a built in flash to point up thereby being useful. Excellent.
That is one cute child.

Re: New lens tests!
The kitty is a difficult subject to test a lens on, they tend to be attracted to the camera and it's hard to get them to stop moving. Nice effort.

Dan - you have to point the flash up with your finger, so I'm not convinced it's a design feature, but as a quick hack it is pretty effective. And my model is both cute and cheap to hire at the moment - that won't last
John - we have a couple of cats, I ambushed this one at around 2am so she wasn't in the mood for investigations. They are very used to having cameras stuck in their faces...
