Great image, well seen, framed and processed. I particularly like the dark boat with the bright water - the image could have easily ended up without enough contrast but you have it spot on to separate your subjects.

Nice capture... These wind surfers can drive a boat driver bonkers!

    Nicely spotted.

So the Arklow shipping line is still in business. I used to regularly see them when I was fishing for a living. So many of those small ship companies have gone out of business recently.

Thanks all for the comments. Just in the right place at the right time.

Geoff, not only still around but looking healthy if their WEB site is anything to go by although the Arklow Star no longer features in their fleet list? This was taken on the Lune estuary. The ship would have been outward bound from Glasson Dock. I had assumed it to be one of the small carriers that service the Isle of Man but I see from a tracking site that it is currently moored in Aarhus-Denmark but due in Liverpool in two days time.

Around here, John, they seemed to be mostly carrying china clay from some of the small ports which can't take the bigger vessels; and they often delivered their cargo some distance up the larger European rivers. A case of making a niche for themselves where smaller really is best. But quite a lot of small general cargo vessels have disappeared because they couldn't remain competitive.

Thanks Marius. By colour grading do you mean the light sepia tone or the contrast?

Yes Geoff, Glasson Dock falls into just that category. Mainly cement and some grainsI think.

Nice catch, John...The wind surfer would have look "tiny" beside that vessel.

Nicely composed image. Looks like the surfer is about to hit a wind shadow.

Thanks Dan. Plenty of wind about and I think he was running before it.
