    So often, this sort of shot fails to live up to expectation; but this is one of the exceptions which really does work well.

    Hi Glenn,

    I like this.

    Architecturally/aesthetically, it is a bit of a shame there's that ledge there, which risks 'blocking' the progression of the viewer's eye traveling up the chimney, but you wisely left a gap both sides.

    The fact that the sky is half white (cloud) and half blue also helps the image, even your timing of the shot to get the join at the top of the chimney works well, we could even imagine the clouds are smoke/steam issuing forth.

    I think that's what Geoff means anyway
