    Hi Mark,

Thanks for the comments, I have the 70-300mm as well, I don't think the 70-200mm would help me much with birding but for some sports it would be a game changer.

I like the facial expression of this beast. Can you imagine what it might be thinking? "Hey you, yes you.... with the camera. Be sure to get a good pic of me!"

    And you did!

    Hi Sandy,

There did seem to be a connection between us. Thanks for commenting.

I am still trying the gap I do not have with my lenses. Envy you for having to participate in a sponsored photowalk. The Rhino is a great shot, John! The zoo offers a lot of shooting opportunities. When I was living in Oz I used to be a member of the Nikon Photoclub. They sponsored at least a photowalk once in three months for a weekend complete with an array of lenses one can borrow for two days, sometimes three days in a row. Plus lectures...I participated to get out of the house. Now I would grab an opportunity like so but I haven't seen any such around here. I must be in the wrong city.

    Hi Izzie,

The store which sponsored this walk has two locations in Pennsylvania and two in WNY, I've checked some of their schedules and the PA location has some oddly interesting walks; one was at a deserted prison. I would have loved to do that one, although I did get some of this experience when I visited Alcatraz. You might have to look for photowalks from other cities than your own or sign up for one conducted by a professional.

The two above are a bit more expensive than the one I attended but then again mine only lasted a few hours. Thanks for commenting.

Thanks, John...I will have to try that in the next few months when I ran out of ideas/theme to shoot. My April/May/June is booked. It is certainly a good idea. Appreciate the suggestions.

Very beautiful and cool shot. Gotta love that colour and you got it well here. I have not seen one of this. Love the framing too.

I would never of guessed it was in the Zoo either, the atmosphere/lighting of the image seems like it was taken deep in a forest/jungle.

    Hi Matt,

This zoo has a rainforest exhibit, the animals can roam around freely and we were warned that they can get very excited as they perch above our heads.
