    Summer Tanagers

Male, female, and immature Summer Tanagers. Gotten this morning, it's the middle of Spring migration here.

Nice. My guess is that Tanagers are not easy to capture.

Nice captures. I misread the title as Summer Teenagers

Not the hardest, but do require a bit of patience, and a lot of luck as they don't run around in flocks.

I am with Richard -- I thought you made a mistake in the title. T'would help if you separate your images with a space and number them for easy reference for comments and/or critique if you ask for it.

I glanced at the title and read teenagers as well. I think these birds are far more interesting....

    Hi Dudley,

Add me to the 'Teenagers' list

I wouldn't have expected the male and female to be of the same species from their colouring and plumage, just another example where you need to know your subject (as you obviously do) to succeed.

Technically all are good, although I echo Izzie's request to separate and number in future please.

Welcome to the CiC forums from me; Dave

    Re: Summer Tanagers

I was looking at these images again and thought that they just might benefit from some slight PP sharpenig.

I selected the bird in NIK Viveza using control points and then increased the structure (40%) and the contrast (15%) which seems to proide more definition in the bird's feathers without any sharpening problems...

    Summer Tanagers

However, I don't know if the original image would be helped by sharpening or just the posted image...

Since so many images posted on this site seem to benefit from increased structure, I am thinking that this might be a dynamic of posting the images...

That's interesting. I may have to try Vivesa on a TIF edit from LR and see how it goes. A lot of 'damage' is done by the hostng media, in this case GOOGLE.
