Nicely captured.
The second is a beautiful shot. Nice lighting, great detail, and an attractive point of view. If you have room, I think it might look even better with a slightly looser crop, particularly on the left. The first one is nice, but not as much so in my opinion, because the red tulips in the background are distracting.
Wow! Beautiful, thank you, Rudi...Your bunches there in the overview including the tulips are nice. Mine is going and almost gone but its leaves. Even that plant beside it with the light green leaf navigating around the thin long leaves is nice too...don't tell me it is a weed...
#2 is an excellent shot! Purrrrfect! You did not spray that to take this kind of shot, did you? Just curious...
Love that 2nd shot Rudi, great detail...they are springing up everywhere around here at the moment.
Thanks John, Dan, Izzie and Matt for commenting, much appreciated!!
I agree with a looser crop in the second shot, unfortunately I don't have much room, should have shot wider !!
As for the first shot, I thought the tulips added something, but as you say they can be seen as a distraction, so now I am a bit in doubt, time will tell ...
Izzie, the plant with the tin long leaves is not a weed, it is a kind off Allium;Originally Posted by Izzie
Nr2. I did not spray the bluebells, I took this shot after a night off rain. The spider I posted in Insects 2016 post 58 was taken the same morning abt 10 days ago. Picture nr 1 I took yesterday late afternoon on a cloudy day!!
Here too Matt...Originally Posted by Matt
Rudi, love that close up, its captured the essence of the flower really well.
If you dont mind me hijacking your thread rather than starting another - we get a wood near us full of them - the wild UK Bluebell rather than the Spanish bluebell that most garden centers sell, this was actually 2014 - its better on some years than others. I know its a bit rude so please tell me to remove it if you prefer.
Thanks Mark for your comment, I could not phrase it better
Well....I do not find you hijacking this thread, I think it is an asset (hope this is the correct word ), to the thread. So feel free to post any Bluebell you want !!
Good shot BTW. In 'Hallerbos' near Brussels there are also vast areas with Bluebells. I was looking for one off my pictures I took when we were there many years ago, but couldn't find them right away. Maybe a good reason to visit the place again ...

All three shots are good, very good.
There are some (very minor) edits I'd do if they were mine, but do you really want to know?
Let's just enjoy them.
Hi Rudi,
In #1, there are just two things I'd worry about;
a) Centre right, there's a bit of a fairly bright straight stick visible, I'd burn that with a localised adjustment to reduce its visibility (or I guess it could be cloned out).
b) In the lower left corner, there's a very out of focus bit of foliage which curves in the foreground, this is also just a bit bright and, since cloning would be tedious, I'd again just tone it down with a bit of 'burning'.
In #2, the tightness of framing has been discussed, so moving on, that just leaves the two sharp items in the lower left corner, which I would clone out.
I still feel bad for being so critical of such nice shots, but these are the attention to (minute) detail that I'd apply in processing, if I'd shot them.
All the best, Dave
Hi Dave,
a) you are right ! The more I look at the picture the more this twig bothered me. As do the broken Allium leaf.
b) right again !! Haven't noticed it before. Thanks for pointing it out !!
I should have 'cleaned' the scene better before shooting .
Will clone them out for sure !!
Don't need to feel bad at all. I do appreciate your ( any) comments/critics. It is the only way to improve !!
Thanks for your helpfull feedback.
Yes...I love Dave for critique-ing my shots. I learned a lot from his discerning eyes...
Rudi, sorry, late picking this tread up, these images exemplify Spring for me,
Izzie, there can be no such thing as a weed, only (for certain gardener's), a plant in the wrong place!don't tell me it is a weed...
Janet does disagree slightly, but I have often challenged her to grow a 'specimen' Dandelion or Thistle. I did so many years back with my nephews, and to their credit, they took them into school to show them off and told the whole class.... 'Weeds are just nice flowers in the wrong place (for us).'
What a beautiful close-up of that image!!!! i stayed looking at its beauty for long..... Others are beautiful too
Thanks Izzie, James and Nandakumar for taking time to comment.
Beautiful images, I especially like #2
Thanks Binnur, glad you like them.
