Helpful Posts: Beside the Blandings turtle, my other find for the day was the Rusty Blackbird. This quite uncommon bird is experiencing a rapid decline in population. The male has black plumage with rusty tips in non breeding condition. The male that I captured is in breeding condition and has shed those rusty tips. The most telling characteristic is those yellow eyes.

These were shot through scrub between the wildlife drive at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge and a swamp, these are with the fewest obstruction as I could manage
