Perhaps there is some food source the insect likes that you can use to lure it. Nice effort, looks like a shrimp.

They enjoy much of the vegetation in the garden. They are shade dwellers and usually i just end up with dark blurs.

the surface is the leaf of a Bird of Paradise. The light is good because the sun was shining through the leaf. And for the record this was taken just before I looked up and snapped the i need a telephoto Sun bird shot. My kit lens does a lot better on macro than telephoto. Originally Posted by Dave Humphries

That's a super image. As Dave suggested, nature provided an excellent background. And the detail on the, the ... the (what is it?) is very good.
