Matt,
I've looked at all the various versions of the photo that are posted here, and have come to the conclusion, that in my opinion, while the subject matter is potentially interesting, there are too many problems with the shot to get a good image, regardless of how much post-processing it receives.
I'd consider it a learning experience and move on to other subjects or compositions that will be more rewarding.
