    White water canoe

I was torn about posting this in the nature/landscape forum or here but decided it was 6 of one half dozen of the other. This is from a hike along the James River in Richmond, VA. This is a unique trail that follows long the river and affords this sort of proximity to the water and folks enjoying it. I'm considering cropping a bit more from the top to remove the blue sky in the upper right corner but don't want to make this too long/narrow.

I would go with the crop, I think it strengthens the shot.

    Hi Chris,

I agree, you could possibly also lose a little off the left hand side, which would prevent it becoming too letterboxy.

I like the shot, highlights on the trees are a bit strong maybe?

Just a little crop will not hurt it...I like the green of the water matching the colour of the trees. The blues broke the monotony of greens. Beautiful shot.

You could try a clone stamp of the trees over the blue sky if you want to keep the framing exactly as you have it - with some patience, you could do a pretty seamless clone I should think.

Or use the patch tool...Select some area (Lasso), press J, move the area to the blank sky. Wallah! Like magic.
