    Made in the shade

Taken earlier this spring in Chinatown here in Toronto.
Yet another shot of the homeless Chinese man who spends much of his time beside the entrance to an underground parking garage.
On this particular day, I was returning to my car when I noticed him sitting on a stoop smoking.
I was struck by the fact that he managed to stay out of the bright, glaring sunlight that covered the sidewalk in front of him, and liking the scene, I exposed for the shaded area, and grabbed this shot.
Converted to black and white in Photoshop.
    motorized Nikon FA
Nikkor 24 f2 AIS manual focus
    Fuji 100 ISO colour slide
    about 5.6 @ 1/125th

Interesting shot, he almost blends in with the shadows, patterns, and lines.

    Interesting shot.

I like the composition and the camera angle.

I'd like to see the colour version.

The details in technical data really piqued interest . . .

Was that normal development? Was it FUJICHROME Velvia 100?

Apropos the apparent detail in the pavement, I would not have expected Fuji Reversal Film to have the exposure latitude implied?

Could the aperture have been closer to F/9~F/10?

    Bill,
Yes the film was developed normally. I only require pushing for 400 ISO stock when shot indoors.
It was either Provia or Velvia 100 (I have tons of various slide stocks all sorted by speed, and grab a handful out of the freezer as needed).
Aperture was undoubtedly 5.6 as the lens was a 24 f2 that gives me sufficient depth of field at that aperture for a shot like this.

    Re: Made in the shade

Thanks for replying: noted that info. I have never tried that much latitude. I don't do much film now, but have stored that information away should I need it.

    Thanks again.

PS - sorry for the jumbled negatives in my previous - I think you know what I meant to write and I have corrected my previous post now.
