Indoor roses

Hi.
Many of you recently advised me on indoor lighting. I was experimenting with backlighting a clear vase this morning and thought I'd share some results. I'm normally not too into PP, but I thought it would be fun to remove every color except red (second image). I did this in LR. Looks like a little more DOF is in order. Stay tuned.

Working reasonably well. Bruce. Are all those blooms sharply focused? As you mentioned.

I'm not sure about the lettering on that glass container; is it a bit distracting?

I'm not usually keen on mixing colour with monochrome images but your second image does work for me.

Thanks for the comments, Geoff. The blooms aren't sharply focused; I focused on the lettering, and for the next round I'll focus on the blooms. I thought the lettering added a bit of tradition to the image, Ball being an established brand, but it also (the lettering) takes attention from the main subject, so I'll try leaving it out. Lastly, the color and the monochrome, its the first time I tried this. I'm also not usually keen on mixing the two, but I liked how it draws (for me, of course) attention to the image and flowers.
