    Waterfalls At Letchworth State Park

    Hi Everybody,

I did a series of about 115 waterfall photos at Letchworth State Park today. I realized as soon as I pulled out my Sigma 10-20mm that the polarizer filter along with the new neutral density filters I bought for it were the wrong size. I bought 82mm when they should be 77mm. I decided this would be a great time to pull out the crystal ball and shoot with my 35mm lens and it's polarizer that fits! Live and learn I guess! These were my favorite crystal ball shots after I culled through the original 115 photos.I also added my favorite cell phone pics at the end. C&C more than welcome as always.

    -Zak

PS- Go easy on my cell phone photos....I never edit them in photoshop.

I like the crystal ball shots, and phone cameras are not to be sniffed at these days.

I get what you mean. My Nexus 6P takes nice HDR photos and I literally don't need to touch them.

I love these, I absolutely love them. Maybe you could find a way to suspend the crystal ball with something that could be easily cloned out so it looks like its just hanging there...in space? Great series

The crystal ball is pretty cool. And yes, nowadays cell phones are capable of producing nice images under the right conditions. Great set of images here. Well done.

The crystal ball shots are fun and quite well done. The phone shots are also quite good considering they originated from a smart phone...

That's not a bad idea! I might try to suspend the ball with string and aquarium glue....I'd be nervous that the glue would let go and smash the ball the whole time though.

With your talent I bet you could do it by holding the ball with that in mind.

Or maybe holding the ball and deleting the scene. around the ball and hand. Sort of a world in my hand type of thing.

Nice shots of a nice place. I especially like numbers 3 and 7. Pity about that rather uninspiring bridge (railway bridge?).

Yes, it's a railway bridge. I was very excited that I was doing these shots and a train was crossing during shooting. Unfortunately, you can't tell in the crystal ball or bokeh background.

I can actually make the train out in the crystal ball. That's a rather impressive bridge (but still not very pretty!).

It was probably very impressive back in 1900's when it burnt down. That would be a cool picture to take around dusk.
