    Table Mountain

One of the days in Cape Town was spent on Table Mountain. Unlike our last visit, we picked a hot and sunny day and enjoyed a long walk, although we did cheat and take the cable car up and down - when I was in my twenties, I would have walked up.

The views were stupendous and I have too many photos to share them all with you, but here are a few.

1 - On the way up looking towards the Lion's Head

    Table Mountain

2 - Looking south towards the twelve apostles

    Table Mountain

3 - Looking north to Devil's Peak and the suburbs of the city

    Table Mountain

4 - Looking South to Long Beach about 30kms away

    Table Mountain

5 - A bit of human interest, looking towards Cape Point and the infamous Cape Flats

    Table Mountain

6 - A black and white conversion of Devil's Peak

    Table Mountain

Hope you enjoy looking - C&C welcome

What a stunning panorama on all the images Kaye, the scale of the landscape is incredible especially in the second shot

Great shots Kaye. I especially like #2. You might check the horizon for being level. On #5, a great shot, my personal preference would be to consider reducing the green/yellow saturation except in the man's (your husband?) shirt and maybe check the horizon.

Nicely captured, the human interest really adds to the vista but I think #2 is my favorite.

Thanks all for your comments and encouragement.

Sam I have straightened the horizons and desaturated a little - I have been playing with the dehaze tool in photoshop - not sure I like all of it's results

Kaye I prefer #2 -- I like the way you had captured the caress of the clouds on the mountain.

Hi Kaye - I like the changes you made. I could not easily notice any change on the haze. I'm so used to it in my photos that they don't look right with out it

    Re: Table Mountain

Just wanted to throw in that the first photo (Lion's Head) works so well for me because the foreground stone formation gives the far mountain scale and gives the scene a sense of space. People (especially me) are often too focused on the subject to think about putting some foreground into the shot to help with scale and drama.

Thanks all for continued comments and encouragement - with scenery and skies like this the photographers job is made easier. Julian, the first was a snatch shot as we ascended in the cablecar, one of the rare occasions when point and shoot worked.
