Oh no, you've fallen into the annual trap of photographing flowers! Sometimes I look at my library and realize I've only photographed flowers all day. They are bright and focused and fun to shoot.

And isn't this a marvelous shot. You grabbed multiple textures and structures by going off-center despite the GIANT RED temptation to go center. Great discipline there. Sharpness is stellar, it's bright as hell and I think you meant it to be. I also like the subtle DoF bringing you back into the shot if your eye strays too far.

How many beers did it take to finish the final product, Dave? (Sorry you started it, very tempting not to comment...Anyway the result is astounding. If you did a focus stack, it would have been more spectacular, but then hey! those beers made you do it, so this is good enough.
