A very interesting perspective John, I'm looking at getting a fisheye lens, are you happy with the Samyang.
Thanks for the comments Greg/John. Greg, I have two Samyang lenses, this one and the 10mm super wide. The 10mm is a full frame lens and relatively large. Had I thought about it a little longer, I might have opted for the much smaller 12mm DX lens which is gaining a good rep. Robin (Black Pearl) I think has one and gives it a good write up. The 8mm fisheye by comparison, is pocketable. Both are optically stunning. They are purely manual of course but at the wide angle end of the spectrum, focus and DOF are hardly a problem and auto focus is consequently less of a must. Apart from all that, the price is right.
neat capture...
Was this taken in front of either a hotel or an airport...? Those are the only two places I can imagine taxi ranks existed..e.g., Trump Towers in NY. Nice shot.
Thanks Richard, thanks Izzie. Izzie, this was just in the main square of the older part of Funchal. It's a sort of transport hub where you can catch a bus, a taxi or even the cable car up to the top of the mountain.
Interesting shot John, I like the color contrast and the perspective
Thanks Binnur, thanks Matt.
Imaginative and clever use of the fisheye. The first step is in 'seeing' the picture. It's only when you do, that you can then capture the photograph.
Thanks Donald.
