Nicely done, very dramatic capture from this angle of view. I think it would work just as well if the man and partial figure at lower corner were removed. I like the color version more than the B & W.
#1 for me too Tejal, well seen.
Tejal,
Shadowman's comments reflect my own opinions on this very interesting shot.
I'd also suggest cloning out the power lines as they add nothing to the scene.
My one other comment is that this picture leaves me wanting to know more about where they are working, so as a single documentary photo, it leaves something to be desired, and would work better as part of a photo essay.
Thanks for your comment. They were shifting salt from the field. Their work is very very difficult.
Tejal,
This is a photosite.
Don't tell me. Show me.

Tejal, if you have more shots that contribute to a particular narrative then fine but if this is the only shot, in my opinion it stands up very well all on its own. I much prefer the color version. IF you were to do any editing, to me the background woman alongside the foreground woman's leg could be removed. But purely as a documentary type shot you can leave it exactly as it is.
I wouldn't worry too much about having to *explain* your photo, this one does well on its own. All too often when a *photographer* includes a length narrative about their photo, the photo is weak. Just present your photos and let them speak for themselves. A single image can tell a story just as effectively as a series of photos. From what I've seen of your work you have very strong images, keep up the good work.
This image stands on its own quite well. I can see the white salt coming out of the pit in the baskets atop the worker's heads and leading to a pile at the image right.
The image is just fine as it is but, there are two very minor changes which might improve it somewhat.
I cropped out the figure at image right and also brightened the shadows on one side of the primary subject's face.
The subjects and the pile of salt are arranged in a triangular setup which is always very powerful in an image...
thanks a ton Jack for your kind words. Yes I do have some more pics of this place and I have tried to incorporate all the activities in my photographs so that each of them show case the place (salt pan). I will share some of them with you all very shortly.
thanks once again.
Hi Tejal, I like the image and I find Richard's edit better . Good shooting angle
Tejal,
I like your shots giving me a view of Indian live.
I like the framing of this picture too. But if you positioned yourself a bit higher you could gain the same result but with less perspective distortion.
