Colour, shapes, lines and a wonderful sense of scale provided by the people in the image. A really good cityscape.
One thing I wonder about is a slight perspective correction so that the upper horizontal lines on the building run horizontally across the frame, just as the lower lines do.
Lot of things for the eyes to see in this one, very nice. Wonder if it would work in B&W?
It is certainly interesting architecture Dan.
My thought on that is it might make it more of a visual jumble because at the moment we can tell pure reflection vs internal structure by the colours; 'internal' being green tinted - take away the colour and we lose that ability (I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing Jim).
Thanks, all. Donald, believe it or not, I didn't know how to change the perspective correction on only one of two horizontal sides, so I doubly appreciate the comment--I just learned how. I'll post the corrected one below. Jim, I did try B&W, but it didn't work well. I think the color contrasts matter in this image.
Dan
Very nice, Dan...it is like looking at a photoshop image with a grid...every nooks and crannies has to be perfect.
Nicely composed.
Nice Dan, like it a lot, very well seen and captured. Really good multi layer depths to it
Great image Dan
Such a stunning composition! The runner in the middle adds such a nice touch because he is in the center and the only part of the image that is not static.
Thanks all. It was a stroke of luck for me. I don't have much of an eye for cityscapes and didn't have this setting in mind. I was walking to the Mauerweg from the Tiergarten, for those who know Berlin, and stumbled on this. I was fascinated by the layering of the reflections and the complexity of the forms and took several shots.
Nice capture Dan!
