Abstract - wood blocks

We went for a walk along the Thames earlier. One of the features of the new development east of Greenhithe is a staircase with reclaimed sea defences as a barrier. I thought it made for an interesting study in texture and form. C&C welcome.

I really like it! I wonder how it would look if the metal frame around the post were in focus as well. Is there any interesting texture to the steel rings?

I was trying to be a contortionist to capture this - I agree that the front metal ring would be better if it was in focus but it's only a little soft, and I wanted to ensure the blocks at the back were bokehlicious. I've brought out the red colour in post - they weren't as weathered as you might expect. I've yet to get a feel for accurate work with shallow DoF on the m43 set-up.

Lovely shot. I am in admiration of your range of subjects. Macro, medium, or telephoto. You're always finding a new way to shoot. A great eye for story.

This particular shot I think could benefit from a little deeper depth of field. Contrast between the metal rings and the wood makes me happy. I might even swing the camera up a few degrees to look more down. The fact that you can see a horizon here detracts from the feeling. You could crop it sure, but re-taking the photo looking a few degrees more down allows you to bring more of the main subject into focus too. And of course have to keep those far posts in the shot.
