Hi Dave,
For me, the first is cropped/framed just a little too tight across the top.
While the second is similarly so at the bottom.
However, both seem to be well exposed and noise free in the backgrounds.
Cheers, Dave
Thanks Dave,
I see what you mean about the crop, and should be able to remedy it quite easily. I was interested in how anyone might feel about the amount of each image that is in focus. The blossom was on the tree and it was pretty windy as always, so tripod and focus stacking would presumably be out of the question (even if I had the relevant software!).
The first image was taken with my Fuji X100 and a higher than normal ISO. The second was shot with the my Canon 70D and Sigma 105mm macro. This latter is obviously closer but therefore less in focus. In the past I have taken lots of flowers shots with my old Canon G7 but I now find that they look too much like shots to illustrate a garden centre catalogue, all in focus but less 'artistic'. (I am not sure whether you can access the EXIF data for the images: I can't see any on C in C).
Cheers,
Dave
Lovely shots Dave.
I like both of them, Dave...the center blossom you picked is very nice whereas the colour of the second one is good indeed. Good job.
